Recognizing the decisive role that our determinants play in our lives in no way reduces the passion and pleasure we get from being alive. When we read a novel or watch a movie it does not matter that the outcome is already decided — our enjoyment comes from experiencing the story unfold with all of its twists and turns.
Despite our behaviors being completely caused, until the very moment we act we can never be certain what our behavior will be let alone anyone else’s. And so, like with a book or a movie, we are experiencing a story unfold in which we cannot predict the outcome.
Although our lives will always have surprising twists and turns, they need never become uncontrollable like a runaway train. By utilizing Naturalistic Support techniques to examine how our determinants effect our lives, we can gain valuable knowledge that will get us closer to becoming our desired selves.
