An experimental mindset utilizes a number of skills which can be learned, such as critical thinking skills, but also involves relating to the world around us with the kind of curiosity, playfulness, creativity, imagination and willingness to make mistakes that is native to every child.
When we adopt an experimental mindset or participate in experimental activities we connect to a significant part of our heritage — the one that everybody shares. Our universal legacy is the recognition that our perception is easily flawed by bias. It took hundreds of thousands of years, but ultimately humankind became the one species who figured out that by applying a methodology designed to defeat bias we can attain knowledge that frees and empowers us — a breakthrough transcending ethnicity, race, religion, nationalism, and almost every other category by which humans identify. The result of this shared human legacy has been so potent and influential that it completely transformed our human experience producing a rapidity of change to which we are barely able to adjust.
